Denver, Colorado, The U.S. Mint, c1908

Gold prospectors from Georgia founded Denver in 1858. Only five years after the gold-driven town sprouted up next to the South Platte River, the U.S. Mint opened an office there. The current building began making money in 1906 and is now one of only six remaining U.S. Mint facilities in the nation.
