Euclid Avenue and 105th Street has long been one of the most famous street
corners in Cleveland. The intersection was a popular stagecoach stop in the
early 1800s and was called Doan’s Corners. The Alhambra Theater opened
in the early 1900s, followed by numerous other arts and entertainment venues.
The bustling neighborhood became known as Cleveland’s second downtown.
