New Orleans, Louisiana, Carondelet Street, c1903

Carondelet Street was named after Francisco Luis Hector de Carondelet, a Louisiana governor during the reign of Spain. Governor Carondelet made several improvements to the city�s infrastructure, including a canal and the first street lights, and would have been proud to see the first streetcar system west of the Allegheny Mountains operating in New Orleans.
