Providence, Rhode Island, Carrie Tower at Brown University, c1906

Carrie Tower first rose high above the campus of Brown University in 1904, constructed as an enduring symbol of love. The majestic tower was gifted by Paul Bajnotti as a memorial to his late wife, Carrie Mathilde Brown, granddaughter of the university´┐Żs namesake. At the time of its construction, the limestone clock tower on Quiet Green was one of the tallest and most striking structures on campus.
