Providence, Rhode Island, Overlooking Downtown Providence, c1905

Kennedy Plaza has long been a central hub of downtown Providence, evolving throughout the years with the changing city itself. Then known as Exchange Place, it developed in the 19th century as the citys primary transportation hub, evolving from pedestrian traffic, to horse and buggy, to trains, whose tracks covered much of the plazas western end. A mainstay throughout the years has been the Haven Brothers Diner, the nations oldest food truck, established in 1888 as a horse-drawn lunch wagon.
