Seattle, Washington, The Hotel Seattle, c1910

The Hotel Seattle was constructed in the year after the 1889 Great Seattle Fire razed much of the citys downtown. Replacing the wooden Occidental Hotel, the five-story structure occupied a triangular lot facing Pioneer Square. Despite its success as a hotel, the buildings purpose shifted with that of the neighborhood, and it was repurposed as offices by 1914.
