The Jersey Shore, The First Casino on the Boardwalk, Asbury Park, c1905

When Asbury Park founder James Bradley constructed the citys boardwalk, he included a two-story structure known as the Casino, which housed restaurants, changing rooms, and a stage. When that complex was lost to fire, it was replaced, in 1929, by a Beaux-Arts building designed by famed architects Whitney Warren and Charles Wetmore that would become iconic of the citys waterfront attractions.
