A Cartograph of Monterey Bay Region. | A Cartograph of Monterey Bay Region. | Unusual for the use of the term "Limned", meaning illustrated or depicted by. Delightfully colorfully illustrated. The map encompasses the area along the California coast from above Santa Cruz to below Salinas. Brightly colored with Ruth Taylor White's charming figures indicating the activities of various areas. This was an independently issued map - most likely distributed by the Southern Pacific Railroad, as part of the text suggesting ways of visiting the region has been stamped out. At top right is printed "Come via Southern Pacific Railroad" (the succeeding four lines reading, "Pacific Greyhound Bus Lines - or in your own car - or plane", have been printed over). Ruth Taylor White was a Stanford-educated map and book illustrator.
