This is a c.1950 charming pictorial map of the states of Indiana and Illinois. It covers the two states in their entirety with countless illustrations throughout referencing history, topography and places of interest and towns in the two states. Some of these include George Rogers Clark and party, 1778, Wyandotte Cave, Tonty and La Salle, 1679, Joliet and Marquette 1673, Lewistown, Fort Dearborn, Rock Island, etc. An illustration of ‘Little Orphan Annie' is included near Greenfield, Indiana referencing the birthplace of James Whitcomb Riley, the creator of the famous poem ‘Little Orphan Annie'. Verso of the map features information about the state of Michigan, which gives the impression that this map was issued as part of a schoolbook.
