The old horse-drawn paddy wagon out front accents the theme of the old jailhouse, which is now (2016) the Old Jail Inn, a bed-and-breakfast inn in which guests sleep in Expected, but spruced-up, cells. The jail and the courthouse across the street were both designed by Fort Wayne, Indiana, architects Thomas J. Tolan and Son. The boiler house behind the jail was the site of the last hanging in Parke County, of Earl Stout, in 1888. | Credit line: Photographs in the Carol M.
